Personalized Medicine and Health Informatics Plan
The Personalized Medicine and Health Informatics (PMHI) track integrates genomics, advanced data science, and health technology to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance personalized care and advance research in translational arenas that move scientific discovery into the clinical care setting.
Coursework
The curriculum includes 38 credits of coursework, 19 from the general BSBT program, and 19 specific to the track. Coursework includes core classes in biomedical sciences, track-specific courses in personalized medicine and health informatics, and a hands-on internship.
Hands-On Experience
Students will complete an internship, in person or online, with faculty at the Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine and Department of Biomedical Informatics or with an industry partner.

Admissions requirements
A bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 Official transcripts of all undergraduate work and any previous graduate work A completed application to Graduate Studies Three academic letters of recommendation Personal Statement: A one-page personal statement describing the applicant’s career goals and purpose for studying biomedical sciences and biotechnology as well as personalized medicine and health informatics A nonrefundable application fee (waived if attending information session) Official transcripts from all post-secondary colleges and/or universities should be emailed directly from the issuing institution to: [email protected] (preferred)
International students must meet all the requirements above and those required by International Admissions.
Admissions requirements
BSBT-PMHI only admits for the fall semester. The application will open September 1 and close March 15. All materials must be received by March 15.
