This November, CU Innovations stands in support of National Diabetes Month. The NIH’s theme for 2019 is “Take Diabetes to Heart” as a way to raise awareness of how diabetes increases the risk of cardio vascular disease.
According to the NIH, diabetes doubles a person’s chances of dying from heart disease or stroke because blood glucose can damage blood vessels and nerves that control the heart.
