The American Council on Education's Academic Costume Code lists the colors allocated to the various fields of learning that have been largely standardized by the Intercollegiate Bureau of Academic Costume.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus uses the following colors for its hoods and tassels. All robes are black:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Apricot

Master of Science in Nursing - Gold

Master of Science / Master of Clinical Science - Gold

Master of Public Health - Salmon

Doctor of Public Health - Salmon

Doctor of Nursing Practice - Apricot

Doctor of Pharmacy - Olive Green

Doctor of Dental Surgery - Lilac

Doctor of Medicine - Forest Green

Doctor of Philosophy - Royal Blue Hood & Old Gold Tassel

Bachelor's Degree - gown, cap, tassel: $23 + tax + shipping

Master's Degree - gown, hood, cap, tassel: $40 + tax + shipping

Doctoral Degree - gown, hood, tam, tassel: $55 + tax + shipping

Faculty regalia is paid for by the university. MD regalia is covered by the School of Medicine.

All MD and DDS graduate regalia will be distributed on campus prior to the day of commencement. Home shipping is not available for these degrees.

Shipping: The rate for shipping regalia to your home domestically is $16.95 and includes a return shipping label for the gown (and hood if applicable). International shipping is available for $34.95 to most destinations.

Caps and tassels are yours to keep.

Herff Jones is CU Anschutz's official regalia provider for our in-person commencement ceremonies. All graduate regalia worn in the ceremony must be provided by Herff Jones or approved by the commencement coordinator in advance of the ordering deadline.

Please contact commencement@cuanschutz.edu if seeking permission to wear alternative regalia.

All graduates and faculty members must register and order regalia no later than 9:59 p.m. MDT on April 13. Remember, for most graduates this is a two-step process requiring graduates to register and then place a regalia order. Both must be completed by April 13 to avoid additional fees.

A $25 late fee is applied to all rental orders placed during cap and gown distribution on campus.

Home-shipped orders (available to all but MD and DDS grads) should be received at least three days prior to the ceremony.

Please contract commencement@cuanschutz.edu if you have missed the registration deadline and still wish to participate in commencement.

MD and DDS regalia will be distributed on campus prior to commencement day.

All other graduates will be given the option to pick up regalia on campus or pay an additional fee ($16.95) to have it shipped prior to the ceremonies.

 

 

Items distributed on campus will be available to pick up on Thursday, May 18 and Friday, May 19 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in Ed 2 North 1304.

Home-shipped regalia orders will arrive within 30 days from the date when you place your order, and at least three days prior to the ceremony.

Announcements and fine paper accessories will arrive to your home within 21 days from the date you place your order.

Diploma frames are estimated to arrive in 5-7 weeks from the date you place your order.

Class rings are estimated to arrive in 12-14 weeks, but varies based on product selection and the shipping location.

 

Undergraduate students must return only their gown. Graduate students must return their gown and hood. All students may keep their cap/tam and tassel.

Return instructions along with a pre-paid return label will be included with home-shipped orders. Regalia can also be returned immediately following the ceremonies whether it was shipped to you or not.

Regalia and accessories (i.e. stoles, souvenir tassels) are eligible for a refund as long as they are unopened and unused. Refunds should be requested no more than two weeks following the ceremony date.

Diploma frames can be refunded as long as the request is made within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. The refund will be issued once the frame is received by Herff Jones.

Sales of announcements and announcement accessories (i.e. tissue inserts) are non-refundable.

Class ring sales are non-refundable.

All shipping and handling costs are considered non-refundable.

Any product found to have a manufacturing or material defect will be refunded or replace by Herff Jones.

Due to the high volume of transactions that Herff Jones processes during graduation time, expect to receive refunds approximately 8-10 weeks after the returned item has been received by Herff Jones. 

Herff Jones has the ability to ship outside of the US using FedEx International. International shipping is $34.95.

There are no air shipment options for international addresses. Some international shipping requests may be rejected if it is determined that there would be a high likelihood of product loss by sending out the order. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Shipping is not an option for MD and DDS graduates.
