Like the Colorado AHEC Scholars program, the Colorado AHEC National Underserved Scholars (NUS) course was developed to address a need in the University of Colorado medical school curriculum to allow students to develop skills and knowledge about providing care to underserved communities. It is a two-year interdisciplinary education and training program that supplements students' existing health program training and exposes them to underserved populations in urban, rural, and frontier communities.
Course topics including material healthcare, suicide prevention, correctional healthcare, caring for patients with developmental disabilities and more!
