This biennial conference provides preceptor development and an opportunity to network with health professional partners and receives continuing education credits. The NEAR conference rotates around the state of Colorado in rural, urban, and medically underserved areas to enhance partnerships among providers of those rural and medically underserved areas. The focus of this conference is medically underserved, in rural and urban environments.
Colorado Area Health Education Center (COAHEC) was established in 1977 to recruit, retain and educate health care professionals in rural and medically underserved areas of the state, COAHEC's mandate is to be an outreach arm of academia, including preceptor development. As such, we know the success of our mission is dependent on the communities we serve.
NEAR provides continuing education credits, cutting-edge information for practice transformation, networking opportunities, and information on current medical research to providers in all communities but targeting those in underserved areas.
The conference is in the new Health Sciences Building on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
