What is the NEAR Conference?
This biennial conference provides preceptor development and an opportunity to network with health professional partners and receives continuing education credits. The NEAR conference rotates around the state of Colorado in rural, urban, and medically underserved areas to enhance partnerships among providers of those rural and medically underserved areas. The focus of this conference is medically underserved, in rural and urban environments.
Conference History:
Established in 1977 to recruit, retain and educate health care professionals in rural and medically underserved areas of the state, the Colorado Area Health Education Center system’s mandate is to be an outreach arm of academia, including preceptor development. As such, we know the success of our mission is dependent on the communities we serve.
Looking to the Future:
The goals of this conference will be:
- Goal 1: Improving quality and community health outcomes in rural and medically under-served areas
- Goal 2: Providing access to evidence-based health information, high quality continuing education
- Goal 3: Provide high quality continuing education and support for healthcare providers serving in rural and medically underserved communities in Colorado.
