Dissemination and Implementation Research

Supporting and facilitating a learning community and serving as a conduit for active local dissemination and integration of D&I educational resources from the NIH and other organizations. We are disseminating national standards and D&I best practices and training to CCTSI members. We are curating available NIH, AHRQ, and PCORI resources. The CCTSI D&I unit is collaborating with the ACCORDS D&I program to create and promote seminar series and workshops.

We are partnered with the Adult and Child Center for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS), funded by the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado.

We are using stakeholder engagement and pragmatic D&I models, methods and measures to build D&I capacity within scientists, systems and communities. We are developing, testing, and disseminating sustainable and equitable solutions to real world problems.

Clinical Science Graduate Programs

The goal of this program is to train nationally competitive clinician/clinical translational scientists by providing a formal and structured educational program in the clinical and translational sciences including formal mentoring with interdisciplinary faculty. Graduates are trained to conduct rigorous, credible and relevant patient-based research within stringent ethical and regulatory guidelines, and translate the evidence for community application.

Request Consultation

Consultations are available for ACCORDS-affiliated faculty and staff such as School of Medicine, Children’s Hospital, and CCTSI-affiliated faculty, trainees and staff. Consultations are individual or group meetings with a D&I team member to discuss D&I methods and their application to a study. Consultations may include general discussions, education or other assistance.

Defined Terms

  • Dissemination: the targeted distribution of information and intervention materials to a specific public health or clinical practice audience. The intent is to spread ("scale up") and sustain knowledge and the associated evidence-based interventions.
  • Implementation: the use of strategies to adopt and integrate evidence-based health interventions and change practice patterns within specific settings.
  • Pragmatic Trials: Pragmatic (or practical) trials are concerned with producing answers to questions faced by decision makers and relevant stakeholders. Pragmatic trials seek to increase the external validity of the findings while maintaining strong internal validity.
